  • Team Go Sail (Sarah and Amanda) Wins U.S. Olympic Team Trails!!
  • Secures Berth on U.S. Olympic Team for Bejing, 2008!

You can see Team Go Sail crossing the finishing line at the Olympic Trials wearing their Snapper Rock long sleeve rash tops (Blue/Black/White), Titanium Long Pants and visors.

We wish them all the very best with the lead up to the Olympic Games.

"We are very excited about winning the US Olympic Trials and securing a spot on the 2008 Olympic Team! Now the real works begins- we don't just want to go to the games, we want to bring home a medal! Local Annapolis sailors Molly and Jackie Hanna, give Snapper Rock some insight on what it takes to become a rocking good sailor
Age: 13
When did you first start sailing?
When we were about 7 we started on our own boats, but have been sailing since we were babies!

How did you get involved?
My mom worked selling boats and my dad has always been a big sailor!

What Boats do sail on?
We sailed on optis just until last year and this year we started 420’s!

What Sailing Club do you belong to?
SSA (Severn Sailing Association)

Do you ever sail together?
Yes actually in 420’s Molly is usually crew and I am the Skipper!

Do you train?
We sail only in the summer usually 5 days a week for a month or two!

Have you ever had a coach?
No.

Do you have training partners – is so who are your training partners?
Mostly each other and our friends!

What’s the worst part about sailing?
Not enough wind or too much wind!

Do you play any other sports?
Yes we swim and play lacrosse.

Have you had any big crashes, flipped the boat? Broken a mast?
No, but we have done a lot of capsizing!

Do you have a favorite sailor?
Not really!

What do you think is the key to being good at sailing?
To know how to catch good wind, have patience, and always have a great time!
